Celtic singer Caitlyn Grey
shows several different influences acting as a guiding light on her New World
Music album SIREN'S SONG. At times, she explores Enya territory, like
"Briochan's Theme" and "Eternal Spirit" (the latter of which is reminiscent of
Enya's "Boadicia"). She also explores medieval renaissance music, gives a nod to
the soundings of Clannad on "The Romany" and shows an interest in modern Celtic
folk music. All of these factors meld together to form her signature blend of
traditional and ethereal Celtic music. Grey's voice is sweet and clear with an
Irish lilt, with musical backing from harp, guitar, flute, uileann pipes, synths
and strings. Other highlights include "Rhiannon's Lament," a bittersweet air
that puts her vocal prowess front and center on the tranquil title track.
