These spheres are polished selenite with a smooth feel. Each sphere is unique in its transluscence and interanl structure. A clear plastic stand is included.

Most crystal spheres (such as quartz) are machine polished. These selenite spheres are hand polished. For most crystals that are quite hard and have a constant grain, machine polishing produces good results. However for selenite, which is a soft crystal, and also has grains that can change direction, machining spheres is just not possible to do consistently well.

This means that the selenite spheres we sell, will not, when examined very closely be 100% spherical mathematically speaking, although to the naked eye it is very hard to tell.

But you are getting the care and attention of a crafts person, and spheres that have a great polish.

We sell our selenite spheres in various sizes. If you order more than one you will find there is some degree of variation. That is because they are hand polished, not machine polished.


The reason they are hand polished is because selenite as a crystal is soft and has grains that change direction. So machine polishing does not work well.

This means that they can differ a little in their diameter and also mathematically speaking the sphere shape can vary a little, but it is hard to pick up with the naked eye. 

Each sphere will be unique is its internal crystal structure and translucence.

The plastic stand is included. 

Selenite - 
Selenite is a crystallised form of gypsum. The colours can vary. It is a soft and fragile and is formed on Salt Plains, about two feet below the surface. Note: be careful when cleansing selenite as, although some contact with water is okay, it's a soft mineral and can deteriorate if left in water for long periods of time.

Key energetic associations: Promotes feelings of spirituality / Divine connection / Gentle vibration / Often associated with crown chakra / Angelic consciousness / Past life work / Meditation. Larger pieces often placed in home or office.
