The words "Om Mani Padme Hum" are central to Tibetan Buddhism. It is believed that within them are vibrations that comprise all the sounds of the universe. This album from Buedi Siebert focuses on the mantra, as well as the inner harmony you achieve through chanting it, by providing a series of Asian-hued, introspective compositions. Instrumentation utilized includes quiet flute melodies, gentle percussion, guitar and shimmering harp strumming. Although many of these tracks are instrumental pieces that display Siebert's gift for creating meditative atmospheres, several also contain female vocalists (both solo and multiple) chanting "Om Mani Padme Hum" and its variation "Om Mani Peme Hung Hrih" This is a great album for creating a space of peace and reflection. |
