OCEAN SPA transports the listener to a relaxing place of peace, where gentle music is joined by the timeless flow of the ocean surf. Being a "Solitudes" title, it's clear that the album will be a very relaxing listening experience and the album does not disappoint. Soft flutes are joined by the sounds of piano, acoustic guitar, keyboards and various Asian instruments, like the Bansuri flute, Shakuhachi flute, udu, koto and percussion, all combining to create a serene atmosphere for healing and relaxing. The music was composed and arranged by Ashtar Ron Allen, who provides the albums flute playing alongside the instrumentation of Rob Piltch, Brian Moore and others. Of course, it wouldn't be a Solitudes title without the exquisite nature recordings of Dan Gibson and D. William Gibson, whose ocean wave recordings set the scene and add to the album's sense of place.
