Ocean Odyssey - SolitudesFor years, the "Solitudes" series has been at the forefront of musical recordings that prominently feature wildlife sounds, thus capturing the glory of the natural world and blending it with tranquil melodies. OCEAN ODYSSEY continues in that fine tradition, in this case featuring aquatic-themed music by composer Adam Goddard. His soundscapes fit the undersea essence of the album perfectly - they are calm and fluid, while bearing deep synth ambience that does a great job of capturing an underwater effect. The music is mostly based on twinkly, tonal keyboards, with a little guitar thrown in to create warmer undertones. It wouldn't be a proper Solitudes release without a plethora of Dan Gibson's classic field recordings and this album is no exception. Featured are the songs of whales, the clickity-clack of dolphin communication and sea gulls. |
